A Lot Of Nigerian Universities Unqualified To Teach Law – Legal Practitioner Reveals
By on September 13th, 2022.Naija News

A legal practitioner, Adamson Adeboro, has decried the teaching of law in unqualified Nigerian universities.

The lawyer also condemned unethical practices exhibited by some colleagues in the learned profession.

He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the government should pay more attention to law departments.

Adeboro stated that certain universities where law programmes are offered are not suited to do so.

He said it was an aberration that law is taught in Universities of Technology or institutions where distant learning takes place.

Adeboro stressed that such schools cannot provide thorough legal training, a situation that results in low quality of advocates.

“My take is that the lawyers are not enough but we have to look at the quality of lawyers being presented to the society.

“Nigeria is under-served in terms of legal representation”,

The Abuja-based counsel added.
