Ekiti Geospatial Data Center commences numbering, enumeration of properties
The Ekiti State Geospatial Data Center has taken over the continued Property Identification, Numbering and Enumeration Exercise (EK – PINEE) across the state.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Geospatial and Information System, Mr. Bode Ogunyemi who made this known in Ado Ekiti, explained that the centre was established to collate all data that is indicated by or related to the State geographically.
He added that the mission of the centre is to provide accurate and updated data that can be used for the overall developmental projects of the state.
According to him, the data collated by the centre would enhance planning, budgeting and physical Infrastructure development, stressing that it would also increase awareness of the geography of Ekiti State as well as promote the use of Ekiti Geographic Information and Resources.
Mr. Ogunyemi said the existence of a Geospatial Data Center would also enable proper numbering and address systems and boost ease of doing business in the state.
He said the exercise would enumerate and tag all buildings, roads, utility facilities for proper identification towards achieving
effective transactions and service delivery.
Ogunyemi implored residents to cooperate with officials of the centre and support efforts of the government to improve on the provisions of the social-economic needs of the people of the State.
